CECNet 2022 will be held in Xiamen, China, international participants should be particularly aware of and careful about visas. Please plan your travel in advance and allow plenty of time to apply for a visa.

Conference Organizing Committee cannot issue visas to attend the conference but can issue an Invitation letter to assist with your visa application. If you need the Invitation letter from the conference, please send the following information to cecnet@cecnetconf.org:
• Your full name as it appears on your passport
• Gender (Male / Female)
• Nationality
• Date of Birth: (e.g. March 25, 1960)
• Passport No.
• Your paper number if you are an author

Notes: (1) Please be noted that an invitation letter will only be issued upon confirmation of registration and after full payment for registration fees has been received. Invitation letters are only issued via email in PDF format and will be sent within approximately one week after your information is received by the Organizing Committee.
(2) Participants are highly recommended to apply for Tourist Visa; the Organizing Committees can not issue any official letters of invitation for your visa application due to Chinese regulations.

Do I Need A Visa for Xiamen?
Normally foreign visitor should apply and get a Chinese Visa to visit Xiamen (China) before departure. However, different visa exemptions have been operated in Xiamen, so please check who can visit Xiamen without visa first. With qualification, certain visitors can also apply Xiamen Visa on Arrival.

Who Can Enjoy Xiamen Visa Exemption?
1) Singapore, Brunei, Japan citizens can visit Xiamen visa free for tour, business and family visit for 15 days.
2) Nationals from 14 countries (San Marino, Mauritius, Seychelles, Bahams, Fiji, Grenada, Ecuador, Tango, Serbia, Barbados, United Arab Emirates, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, Qatar) can travel to Xiamen without visa with visa-free stay at a maximum of 30 days, 60 days and 90 days for different nationality.
3) Holders of APEC Business Travel Card (business entry for 6 months), China Residence Permit, China Permanent Residence ID Card and visitors granted Visa-Free Transit (24 or 144 Hours). China Visa Free Policy>>

Introduction of Xiamen 144-Hour Transit Visa Exemption Policy
Xiamen began 72-Hour Transit Visa Exemption on April 1st, 2015. Since January 1st, 2019, China had extended the 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit Program to Xiamen, and more 4 cities (Chengdu, Kunming, Wuhan and Qingdao) in China after implement in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou.... Until December 2019, there are 20 Chinese cities offering such convenience for international transit passengers.

Based on the policy, foreigners are allowed to apply transit visa exemption at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, Xiamen Wutong Ferry Terminal, Xiamen International Cruise Center, as long as you come from 53 certain countries, hold valid international travel documents and tickets within confirmed seat and leaving Xiamen within 144 hours. That means eligible applicants may have a 6-day visa-free layover tour in Xiamen, which will save much time and give great chance to explore poetic Xiamen during the stopover.
